The National and Provincial assemblies in Pakistan have a tenure of five years. General Elections take place upon the conclusion of the term of these assemblies. The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) organized the General Election.Both the National Assembly and the four provincial assemblies conduct their elections simultaneously on that day. The ECP releases the election results after the completion of the counting process.
General elections 2018 took place On Wednesday July 25, 2018 in Pakistan to choose representatives for the 15th National Assembly and the four Provincial Assemblies. The three major parties that participated in the election were the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) led by Imran Khan, the Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) led by Shahbaz Sharif, and the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) led by Bilawal Bhutto. While the PTI secured the highest number of seats in the National Assembly but not got a majority. Therefore, the party established a coalition government with various smaller parties.
